Window No. 9

When you think every angle must have been covered it is brilliant when someone comes up with a new take on the subject.  Well done Jane for thinking of stained glass windows, - why hadn't I thought of that? My card came in a window themed envelope with the phrase 'the eyes are the window of the soul'  printed on that unforgettable photograph of the Afghan girl.

The card itself is one of Jane's crazy patchwork pieces overlaid with an image from Coventry Cathedral's stained glass windows...
.. with this quote on the back -
"People are like stained-glass windows. They sparkle and shine when the sun is out, but when the darkness sets in their true beauty is revealed only if there is a light from within." Elizabeth Kubler-Ross.
Jane also included a link to this web page from the Metropolitan Museum of Art with more window images.
Thank you Jane

This is wonderful - the envelope alone is gorgeous with those super images collaged and stitched. The postcard is beautifully vibrant, and the quote is so true.

I've got windows next.................

Beautiful card, lovely quote. Loved the link too: especially liked the Friedrich views from an artist's studio window - stunning. Very clever of Jane to link her crazy patchwork and stained glass.

Yes, as Cathy says, I'm amazed at how much the stained glass resembles the crazy patchwork. Beautiful.

The others have already said it all. This is a beautiful made card and the quote is memorable. Another great interpretation.
