Jane's postcard came today - lovely photos and cool blues in a watery collage. It's very pretty and calming - something much needed here as we've been coping with a watery disaster (I'll post on my blog about it later). Suffice it to say that I must pay tribute to the postman who jumped nextdoor's flowerbed to deliver it, as our drive way is, as I write, on the third day of being excavated by an emergency plumbing service trying to find a leaking pipe that has reeked havoc in my husband's study and music room on the lower ground floor.
Thank you, Jane. I'm not sure the photo does it justice, so I'll post a better photo later if I can manage to take one.
The quote, 'We never know the worth of water till the well is dry' Thomas Fuller, is both apt for us - living with buckets and bottled water, and rather ironic as the worth of damage done by water here is mounting, frighteningly, day by day towards the limit on our insurance policy!
Hope everyone else had a rather better bankholiday yesterday - we shall remember it for more than that wedding.
